Curtis Hoad Electrical Consultancy Services Pty Ltd is one of the four divisions that make up the Curtis Hoad Group. Starting from humble beginnings in 1980, the electrical division of the Group started in Electrical Contracting in Tumut in Regional NSW in the foot hills of the Snowy Mountain on the western side of the Great Dividing Range.

 

The electrical company started out as a sole trader and was named Curtis Hoad Electrical and with another name change in July 1987 to C.A & F.J Hoad Pty Ltd when the company principle owner was married to Frances Julia Macadam. The final name change was made on the 19th September 2005 to Curtis Hoad Electrical Consultancy Services Pty Ltd and is the present name of the company today.

 

From 1982 until 2005 the main focus of the electrical contracting business was to the construction industry performing Domestic, Commercial, Industrial and Rural electrical work. In the early 80’s and 90’s the electrical arm prospered well, working for major national companies such as Coles Supermarkets and Woolworths supplying services for electrical, air conditioning, instrumentation and refrigeration works on a 24 hours a day full service contract in the commercial sector.

 

In the building industry sector, major housing companies such as CNC homes of Albury, AV Jennings of Wagga, Hotondo Homes, Austwide Homes of Wagga and the NSW Government Department of Housing and Teacher Housing played a large role in the expansion of our company.

 

In the Industrial sector again, our company was focused in providing prompted services and quality resources to the Mining, Timber, Pulp & Paper, Meat and Food and Beverage Industries. Multi- National companies such as ABB Australia, Amcor Paper, Amcor Packaging, Visy Paper, CSR Timber Products, CSR Concrete, ACI Timber Products, Booral Bitumen and Adelong Consolidated Gold are just a few of the many satisfied customers that our company has had regular dealing with.

 

By now the Groups electrical division had a good reputation in the building industry in southern NSW. With good success in contracting to the various industry groups it was decided in 2005 for the electrical company to go full time into consulting. Due to a slowing in the economy and cut backs in the manufacturing industries, it was decided at a board level that consulting to the mining sector was both a secure and profitable business decision based mainly on the fact that Australia was running in a two speed economic environment.

 

With well over 30 years solid experience in Electrical, Automation, Instrumentation and Telecommunications the electrical division of the Group was very well positioned to take full advantage of the current mining boom and to cement the Groups presence for the future ahead.
